On October 15th I ran 5km in memory of my mum and to raise money for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care - those of you who know me well, will understand that this was a big deal for me.

Although I have always strived to maintain a certain level of fitness "I don't do running" or at least I didn't until I set myself this challenge.

Mum visited Cherry Lodge following her diagnosis and enjoyed the facilities they offered, particularly the manicures!

They were very supportive to us when we lost her 10 years ago and used some of the money donated then to continue the manicures.

As you can imagine, 15th October has been a difficult day to get through and I have just managed to do that for the last 9 years. But this year it was a positive day because I  achieved my goal of running 5km and thanks to the generosity of friends and family, raised money for Cherry Lodge in mum's name.
