<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.<span style="color: black; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">Last year myself and the "Dream Team" now named "Sugar Rush", decided to mark my 20 years of being a Type 1 Diabetic by taking on the Loch Ness 10k Challenge! We managed to raise over £1800 for Diabetes UK which was outstanding!

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Their main aim is to raise vital funds & awareness so they can improve the lives of people with diabetes and work towards a cure and a future without it, my and every other Diabetics dream :-)

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">This October marks me being soooo "sweet" for 21 years! So a bigger celebration needed!! It seems like yesterday I was diagnosed at the age of 11 :-( Injections, insulin, diet, testing, exchanges & hypos became my life, but with an amazing family and the best friends a girl could ask for, I managed to carry on doing everything I enjoyed like a normal 11 year old would, maybe with a little extra effort!

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">So, so, so much has changed, developed and improved over the past 20 years it’s unreal. I am now in the 1% of very lucky patients in the Highlands to have been given the opportunity to exchange my 5 daily injections for a nice pink insulin pump! One injection every 3 days & a pink external pancreas, i'll take that!! I can’t begin to describe how much this has changed my life over the past year, I’m happier, healthier, fitter and for the first time, I feel in control of my diabetes :-)

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">Unfortunately, managing diabetes as a child is not always easy, for the child or for the parents & family. Insulin pumps & their supplies are not cheap either and therefore not just anyone is given the chance to trial one, even if it would potentially improve their control. Therefore every penny we raise is vital & will go to help everyone, especially children accept being diabetic, allow them to live as close to a ‘normal’ life as possible and realise they are not alone when given the opportunity to experience exclusive diabetic activity summer camps, holidays & the like.

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">So this year "Sugar Rush" has expanded to over double the number of runners to support this great charity:-) All my besties, family & friends hope to raise double last years figure by completing & surviving the 10km!

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">We would love you to support our chosen charity and donate to help improve the chances of preventing or even curing Diabetes:-) In the mean time Diabetes UK’s support can most importantly give Diabetics the chance to live life to the max while we wait for our cure!!

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">You Rock Sugar Rush!!!

<span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9pt;">Thank You xxxxxxxxx
