<p>For the third year running, Amanda, Glen, Sean and Nathan will be taking part in the Goodwood Roller Marathon, to be held on 14th August.<br />Amanda and Nathan will be skating the half marathon (13 miles), Glen and Sean will be skating the full marathon (26 miles).<br />11 years ago, Amanda was diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia (PA).<br />This year, we have decided to raise money for the Pernicious Anaemia Society (PAS) who have provided her with support and advice. <br />The PAS is an independant charity providing support and advice to sufferers of PA. All funding is through donations, so please donate generously.<br /><br />Thank you.<br /><br /><br />Pernicious Anaemia<br />--------------------------<br />PA is a blood disorder which prevents vitamin B12 being absorbed by the body.<br />Physical symptoms include:<br />Fatigue, Shortness of breath, Pins and Needles, Brittle nails and hair<br />Mental symptoms include<br />Mental fog - confusion, forgetfulness, lack of focus<br />Irritability, impatience and mood swings<br /><br />If the condition continues to be untreated, the coating around nerve cells becomes damaged. This leads to more serious problems, such as stumbling, disorientation, inability to balance and memory loss.<br /><br />Without treatment of regular high dose injections of B12, this condition is fatal.<br /> <br /></p>
