Story
In Ghana, close to six million people (nearly 22 percent) rely on surface water to meet their daily water needs, leaving them vulnerable to water-related illness and disease.
So this year as part of charity fortnight, USIC are working with Human Relief Foundation to raise money to build deep tube wells in Ghana providing safe, clean water for thousands of people, not just now but for many years to come.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “The best charity is giving water to drink.”
"When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” (hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated by Muslim).
Ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah) is one of the most valuable acts we can do in this life, which continues benefiting us in the next, even after we have left the earth.
