Story
Hey my name's Amber and I'm a student at the Nottingham Emmanuel School. 8 of my peers and I are doing our best to raise money for an organised trip to Ghana. We're going out to the remote location on the 6th of July for 10 days. Whilst there we will be helping our partner school called the Dutch Komenda. We will be educating the children, painting the classrooms, sharing our culture, creating a safe area to eat and ultimately helping to increase the quality of their education and school environment in as many ways as we can. The money you donate will enable me to travel to Ghana and allow me to put all my focus, time and energy into helping the students of Dutch Komenda. We hope to leave a lasting impression, and hopefully build a long term, sustainable relationship with this Ghanaian school, which will allow students from Emmanuel to return to help them in the future.
In my own time I have been raising money through weekly cake sales at school, which is going very well. I have also participated in car boot sales and have an auction lined up to raise money. I have also applied for sponsorship and with the help of my Dad have begun to line up a whole range of items for us to sell on Ebay. Family and teachers have been very supportive throughout my fundraising journey, so any donations through Just Giving would reviece a great deal of gratitude from us all.
Here is a video of some of work students from Emmanuel completed last year on their trip to Ghana, hopefully this will give you an insight into what we are hoping to achieve - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Gqg0f8_Qg
