It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

It's that time of year again where we head north east to trot through Tyneside one Autumn Sunday morning.  The world's biggest half marathon, the BUPA Great North Run, celebrates its 26th anniversary in 2006.  The BUPA Great North Run is a point-to-point course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields and will take place this year on 01 October.

The course record was broken last year by the first Ethiopian winner of the Great North Run Dejene Berhanu in 59 minutes and 37 seconds, slashing 21 seconds off the previous record set in 2002 by Paul Kosgei.

Can't promise under an hour but sure Dan can drag Amber along for comfortably under 2!

Preparations have been a little different this year, what with Amber trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, not your average training plan, and Dan preferring to tear around on his bike than jogging.  With little time left to prepare we are pacing the roads and trails of Cheshire to fine tune our fitness levels (well best get started as panic started to set in).

She does go on. Anywho, if more than 50 % of you pledge in excess of 10 English i shall run the race in nothing but a thong. How pleasant.

So please give generously and help us support Pancreatic Cancer UK. You can find out more about pancreatic cancer and Pancreatic Cancer UK at their web-site http://www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk
