Story

Hi, I'm Amber, a stunningly beautiful 8 year old Collie cross, who came into the care of Oldies Club recently with another dog, when our owner died and none of their family were able to take me in.

Unfortunately, as you can see from one of the photos, I arrived in rescue with a rather large lump on one leg. Following an assessment period in foster care and consultation with a vet, it has been decided that it is in my best interest for my leg to be amputated. I will be operated on this week (w/c 11 February 2013).

The estimated cost of the operation is £800, so I have set up this page (with a little help), in the hope of raising the money for my surgery. This amount includes the cost of a pre-op X-ray and also my spay, which will be completed at the same time.

If you are able to make a donation towards my vet bills, I'd be very grateful. Please share the link with your friends too, in case they would like to help. This page will be updated with details of any increase in veterinary costs.

Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
