We are a team of five volunteers working in partnership with International Service and a local school in Mali called AMALDEME (Association Malienne de Lutte Contre les Deficiences Mentales chez l’Enfant). AMALDEME has various sections including therapies, special school, integrated school and an animation centre.
As part of the objectives that have been set by AMALDEME and IS we have decided to create a day for AMALDEME. The aims of the day are: to increase awareness of disability in the community and promote the development of an inclusive and cohesive society; to promote the work of AMALDEME; to celebrate the unique qualities and potential of all people and to provide the children with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and abilities to other members of the community.
We have been given a small budget to work with, but feel we could do much more if we could add to this. If you would like to donate to the cause of AMALDEME we would be very grateful! Any funds left over will be left with AMALDEME when we leave. We are hoping to create a small documentary here to show the work of the project and we are happy to show you where your money has gone on our return!
Many thanks!
