Story
Dear Dear Friends,Romans (..anies),Brits,Yanks,Europeans,Crustaceans...(or is it Antipodeans)..South Asian fellowmen and my Nepalese brethren and everyone i know Worldwide..
In a moment of sheer madness I have decided to embark on a Charity Bicycle Ride this September 17 from Whitehaven,UK where i start by dipping my bicycle back wheel in the Irish Sea and ending when my front wheel meets the North Sea at the finish.Yup..Yup..Yup ..you heard it right
(did i really sign up for this!!!) All in 3 nights..
This as you can imagine is a very daunting 140 miles across the Lake District and the Pennines,England's hilliest area and apparently quite steep..
And for anyone who's seen me in the last few months ,William Hill have started a wager on me given my lovely Ganesh belly ( I bet hibernating in front of your tellyfor a month with a case of beer a day and footy helped) and the fact the last time i cycled was about 6 years ago to fetch some barleymalt....from a local corner shop..
So AMIT??? WHY ARE YOU DOING IT???WHAT FOR MAN?????
Because my sweetness.ess,this is in aid of The WEXAS Travel Foundation to raise money so that we/you can contribute to build school in a impoverished area in South Africa and also designed to raise money for two fantastic charities, Africa Foundation and Cool Earth.
The aim is to:
- Africa Foundation: to raise money to build a classroom in an under-resourced school in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
- Cool Earth: to raise money to sponsor and protect 150 acres of endangered rainforest in Ecuador and Brazil
So It would be absolutely fantastic if all of you, my friends,family ;all you people (yes..you too..)that I have been lucky to have met over the years could sponsor me so that we can raise some money for a very good cause.
Any amount whether it be a pound,dollar,Gold Doubloon,
a rupee or any value will all add towards a total of £500.00 that I am hoping to achieve.
I promise all of you that I will keep pedalling till my tyres/legs fall off and most importantly every memory of coming from a 3rd world myself and the result of what this charity ride can achieve for the kids will inspire me to keep going.....(obviously your love and support too!!)
I will take all the pain and walk like John Wayne for weeks to come and for the ones interested, even send you a autographed photo of me looking rather fetching in bright lycra..
So please, please dig deep for I know you/we can try and make a difference in whatever little ways we can..
