Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

Serving the population of the boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow, Meadow House cares for people who have a life limiting or terminal condition. We support their families and carers too and aim to show compassion, care, respect and dignity at all times.

Story

MY REASON AND GOAL

My aim is to raise £2000 and more for Meadow House Hospice  based at Ealing Hospital in West London. I first heard of Meadow House in 2005 when my Granddad who was a cancer patient there sadly passed away. They provide Specialist Palliative Care which compromises of a range of services and therapies to help patients. The team did a great job of caring for my Granddad and the family which is something they do for hundreds of patients and their families too every year.

Their unique service is free at the point of delivery and is funded by the National Health Service but £250k is required each year to be raised through voluntary contributions, legacies, hospice events, fundraising and other creative activities to support the service and environment and some staff salaries.

MY CHALLENGE

Through a gruelling 5 day a week training regime fuelled by a diet of an inordinate amount of carbs, protien and veg come Sunday April 21st I will run the 26 miles of the London Marathon in under 4 hours, possibly even in 3hr30min!

So please dig deep and donate as much as you can. I truly value any amount big or small. Because when I'm training there's no better fuel than your support! Knowing I have it pushes me further and keeps me motivated towards smashing the £2000 target and runnning faster!

Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
