Story
I met David Cole in October through IBM Watson and was, of course, deeply saddened by his family's loss of Oscar... what parent (or human being for that matter) wouldn't be? Then, I was really impressed by his desire and also action to help other families.
You can read the story here: http://thinkingofoscar.com/ It tells of an otherwise happy and healthy 16 month old boy who slipped away due to an infection. And then it tells of his family's desire to help others as a result.
How can you NOT join in and want to help?!
I've cycled in my fair share of biking events, but I've never attempted a triathlon. Coming off a year of 2 knee surgeries (due to a cycling injury) and having never been swimming in this setting, yep, I'm a little scared. But not too scared to try.
Want to help me help the families who are faced with a child's hospitalization? Want to help me help kids get better care?
Thinking of Oscar may be for kids 'across the pond' from where I live, but those kids and families need us, too.
Wanna support me and, more importantly, support kids and families? It's as simple as making a donation. I'll do the swimming in cold water in England for you... Brrrrrrrrrr!!!
