Hi,
Yes it is true!!
I and a group of other mad people will be walking over hot coals on a cold winter evening to help raise money and awareness for a fantastic children's charity.
There
are over 110,000 children in the UK with physical disabilities and/or complex needs
, this means that simple actions most people take for granted such as: lifting
your head on your own, or independently sitting on a normal chair to join in
with a family meal are completely out of reach for some of these children.
It is very easy to believe that there
is little that these children will be able to achieve, simply because more is
not expected from them. However, thanks to the MOVE Programme approximately
2,500 children in over 400 schools and centres throughout the UK now have the
chance to reach their full potential by gaining independent movement whilst accessing
happier and healthier lives.
The MOVE Programme is designed for
anyone who cannot sit, stand or walk by the ‘normal’ stage of development. It
is centred around the child and their family, which means they can choose their
own goals so the Programme is tailored to them and personalised, which provides
the greatest impact on their lives.
For example one young man was motivated as
he decided one of his goals would be to go to the pub with his dad when he
turned 18 to stand at the bar and hold and drink a pint independently!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.
So please dig deep and donate now, every penny really will help me reach my target.
Lots of love,
Amy :)
