Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to take part in a 5k run in Manchester (11th October 2009) in aid of The Children's Heart Federation. The Children`s Heart Federation is the leading children's heart charity in the UK dedicated to helping children with congenital or acquired heart disease and their families. They are a parent lead charity and support 22 children's heart organisations.
At three months old my parents found out that I had a congenital heart defect (a blocked left atrium if you want to get fancy). I had open heart surgery and spent a long time in hospital. Luckily, the operation was a success, but I know that this was a really difficult time for my family. Charities like the The Children`s Heart Federation provide support, help and advice for families going through what my family had to go through. They also support adults who have survived congenital heart disease who have problems securing the essential things in life such as employment, insurance, and mortgages. This is a cause especially close to my (mended) heart, so even if you can only spare a pound it will be hugely appreciated by me and the charity.
Thanks :)
