Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have never ran a half marathon before (the furthest I've ever managed is 4 miles!) so this will be a huge challenge for me!

I'm doing this for all those who have lost loved ones in the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull. The work that our doctors/nurses/physios/OT's/social workers/ bereavement counsellors/volunteers do is amazing, they all care so deeply in making sure anyone faced with terminal illness is supported and cared for in every way possible.

I know we don't like to think about it, but no one knows when they could be affected by terminal illness, and sadly every 5 minutes someone in the UK dies without receiving adequate end of life care. To make sure everyone gets the best care possible we need charities such as Marie Curie. They can only continue to provide this care through the support of the public (70% of their income is reliant on voluntary donations), so please support our challenge!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
