The Royal Hospital Chelsea provides a fitting home to veteran soldiers, fondly known as the Chelsea Pensioners. The Hospital is a place where veterans find comradeship and receive the very highest standards of care.

Story

Hiya,

This charity is very close to my heart as my Granddad is a Chelsea Pensioner, i would like to make him proud by raising money for such a great cause - providing a fitting home, in modernised accommodation, for some 300 elderly or infirm Chelsea Pensioners, all of whom will have served as soldiers in the British Army.

Your kind donation will help to make a difference to the lives of our current and future Chelsea Pensioners.

Our duty today is to ensure that this institution which has been home to the Chelsea Pensioners for over three centuries, will continue into the next century and beyond.

We have embarked on a major development programme to make the Royal Hospital fit for purpose. Already through our supporters gifts we have managed to build and occupy The Margaret Thatcher Infirmary, which was built on time and to budget. The next step is to modernise the historic Long wards on which the majority of Chelsea Pensioners live in conditions that Wren would recognise if he were to return today.

Beyond that we are determined to establish an endowment to guarantee the long term survival of this important and much loved institution.

If you are in area  please do visit the Royal Hospital Chelsea to see your gift at work.

We are extremely grateful to you for your valued support.

At present the Hospital has raised 27 million and still need to raise 50 million for the modernisation of the Long Wards.

So please dig deep and donate now.
