Story
Amy Shepherd is raising money for a powerful and beneficial charity called Football Gambia. I will be joined by a team of volunteers in January 2014 to carry out several projects including a medical centre development, children and young people's projects, sustainable agriculture provision, and building an adventure playground.
Football Gambia is a small non-profit UK Charity, which promotes education through the use of football in Gambia, West Africa. Those of you that know me will appreciate my passion for football, therefore to have the chance to work with communities and use football as a learning tool is a huge privelage.
We will be working with communities, football club academies and schools to help children and youth gain a better education and live a healthy lifestyle. Our volunteer work will include; distributing educational and sports equipment to schools, installing a solar power system to generate electricity for a medical centre, implementing a water irrigation system to support our vegetable garden, supporting our nursery school, running football, first aid and child protection courses for teachers, youth workers and grassroots football coaches.
