Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wife is volunteering for The Great Escape 2013 organised by The Camden Society and I would like to contribute to this great cause by whatever means I've got, which is riding a ridiculous distance and climbing to ten ridiculously steep hills with my bike and asking for your donation in return.
Here is a summary of The Great Escape 2013 event, which you can also find on The Camden Society website.
Following the amazing success of our 2011 and 2012 summer break which saw 200 people with disabilities decamp from London to the Buckinghamshire countryside, we’re asking you to help us raise money for this year’s holiday.
Our Great Escape summer break will cost £20,000 to run - find out why the money is needed. But, it will offer people with disabilities who can't afford a break, and who haven't had a holiday in years, a week of relaxation and fun. For people who are so socially isolated that a holiday feels out of reach, it will give new friendships and an escape from the stresses of city life.
It will mean that this August, for 7 days, we will support more than 200 people to pack, travel, camp, stay and take part in open-air sports, arts and leisure activities in Buckinghamshire.
Help us to reach our target
We've raised £11,993 so far for 2013, but every pound counts as we try to reach our fundraising goal of £20,000. Here's what your donation will pay for:
So please donate now.
