As many of you know, last year saw me complete a 930 mile solo bike ride from John O'Groats to Lands End. After last year I thought I would take it easy in 2013 but it would appear that will be far from the case.

I have been extremely privileged to gain a place along with 34 others heading to Costa Rica in November. We will be cycling from the Pacific to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, approximately 500km over a gruelling 7 days.

Our team will raise over £140,000 for the Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer's Scotland. The funds raised will launch The Live Well Campaign, a new dementia carer programme in the UK. Dementia unfortunately affects so many lives and this new programme will provide support to the families and friends of loved ones who suffer from this disease.

Over the next six months there will be a huge amount of effort put into training and fundraising both by myself and the other members of the team. I love nothing more than a challenge but will only be able to achieve this with your help and support. Any support you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
