We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

I am running London Marathon 2022 to fundraise in memory of my stepdad Brian Brewer.

Brian passed away in March this year, just six months after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Brian experienced symptoms for some time before he was diagnosed, but after diagnosis and unsuccessful surgery, things changed very quickly.

It was a lonely and hopeless time for Brian and everyone who cares for him, knowing there was no chance of recovery.

I want to fund research to prevent others going through this heartbreaking experience. I am proud to run in memory of our kind and gentle stepdad who looked after us all for more than twenty years.

Brain Tumour Research works to fund research, campaign for more funding in this still misunderstood cancer, and train the next generation of researchers to reduce the number of people suffering or dying from brain tumours.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
