The ride takes place over five days from Monday August 19 to Friday August 23, the eve of the 2019 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

The route follows a mixture of off-road trails (canal towpaths, byways, cycle paths) and unclassified roads, with occasional forays onto B roads. Only five miles of the 340 miles are cycled on A roads.
