On August the 1st 2009, a group of us will be riding as highway women and men through keynsham, on a 15 mile horseback ride in aid of the rainbow centre, we hope to bring attention to this charity, whilst raising money for much needed funds...please give what ever you can afford..every penny will help.

I will be riding the gorgeous Jet for half the ride and then helping out with collections and watering horses for the rest of the ride as he's so popular he has to take 2 of us. :-)

Our chosen Charity is the Rainbow Centre. Below are the details of how they helped Sharon who runs our lovely livery yard and has organised the ride!

"On October 27th 2007 at 3.11pm my husband and the father of my three children died suddenly of a heart attack, our lives were distroyed that day, and the events of that day still ripple and impact on our lives, and probably will for the rest of our lives, The Rainbow Centre has been fundemental in helping us cope through some of the worst times you could imagine, we have gradually begun to rebuild our lives and start to live again, if not the same as we thought it would be..we smile again...

The death of a parent, husband, wife, child, sibling or someone dear is truamatic enough for us as adults, but in the minds of children, who can not understand, or comprehend what has happened, we can only imagine what they must be feeling and thinking, The Rainbow Centre has help us understand our feelings, and use them in a positive way, they have helped me and my children learn to like ourselves once more and let go of blame, please please help other families build those stepping stones out of the darkness, help them to understand, heal, and live again..."
