In a moment of sheer brilliance (or madness!), the Music Department at Wycombe High School decided to present the staff and friends of WHS with a challenge; to learn a new instrument and pass a Grade One exam in six months. Participants are being sponsored to raise money for the ‘Play Your Part’ campaign. We at WHS are looking to raise £1.5 million in order to build a new Music block and upgrade our Performing Arts facilities in other parts of the school, work that is desperately needed. The 'Play Your Part' campaign calls on everybody in our school community to use their many talents and skills in order to raise these funds.
So apologies to my family as me and my clarinet squeak my way through this challenge. I am one of 60 members of staff taking up the challenge and hope to raise a significant amount of money for the 'Play Your Part' campaign.

PS Special thanks to Sophie for lending me her (rather unloved!) clarinet
