Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the coming 8 months a group of 20 BGL Group employees will have various fundraising initiatives to fund a school building project in Zambia. The Kabaka school building project will be under control of BGL's charity partner, Build It International and BGL will be the exclusive sponsor. The school will have 3 classrooms, sanitation facilities and a house for the teachers.

In May 2014, the fundraising group will take a 10 day trip to visit the school and learn about the Zambian rural life. This will enable us to get first-hand experience of the impact this project is having on community life. We will also have time to interact with the children and deliver lessons to them.

Some information about the current school:-

- 2 makeshift classrooms make from 'sticks and grass'

- 2 pit latrines which are near collapsing

- 258 pupils (average 40 per class)

- Temporary using the new health clinic building as a school

- 3 teachers

- Site for school allocated as part of the government resettlement scheme

As part of this challenge, I will complete 200 hours of volunteering work for various charitable organisations. This will allow me to not only raise funds for the project but also to give something back to our local community.
