Hoorah, target met and surpassed. Thanks to one and all. X
Hello this is André here!
As many of you may know I have signed up to cycle through Vietnam at the end of October. I have 8 solid days of cycling to complete 660k, it seemed like a great idea before xmas! To add to this I've committed to raising £3500 for david lewis, not sure which challenge will be the hardest!
I've just opened up this page to help me reach my fundraising target and eaten an orange, that's got to help towards my training right?
Anything you guys can give to help will be very much appreciated by the people at david lewis and me.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

20th January - Training commenced!
-2 degrees and foggy, great day to start training! 37km, frozen trainers, gloves and eyebrows - that's got to be worth a quid or two?
25th January - The Clockwork Orange!
My 1989 Clockwork Orange bike has gone for a service, my trusty partner should be ready for Thursday's ride.
27th January - Time Trial
Just got my bike back after quick service new bearings all round and inner cable to the rear. Jumped on and peddled for 66K. This weather is absolute pants, the warmest it got was zero with two or so short blizzard like snow falls, my trainer footed feet went numb at about 45 mins and stayed that way until 30+ minutes post finishing the ride. My energy went at 44K and the last 22K was in auto pilot. Stretched out the legs for 10 mins whilst waiting for my feet to return, legs are just starting to ache at the moment. But my head has not stopped banging need to drink more I think.
29th January 2011
Xavier and Mateus baked cakes to sell to get my sponsorship total moving. All morning escapade raised £16.00 towards the cause. Well done boys. I went off to the gym' and did 75 minutes on the treadmill doing a Fartlek session. Another beerless weekend. Collected a very heavy donation pot from the Shaz Balti. Curry the food of champions!
31st January 2011 - Booking on to training events day
Manchester to Liverpool, Manchester to Blackpool, Manchester 100 mile or Kilometre what shall it be?
10th February 20011 - the birthday bash
Fantastic night last night at Chilli Banana in Wilmslow celebrating my birthday. Thanks to everyone for making it great, especially Steve Wakefield, Manager of Chilli Banana Wilmslow, for donating back the takings from the meal to this cause.
My training is kicking along nicely, last wednesday did 2k swim followed by 77k cycle the next morning. Another 50 K on the bike today!
5th March 2011 - Time for an update ....
4 consecutive days cycling 65 kms a day, ended the week with 103km cycle in the rain, sick of this foul weather!
On a positive note £331.50 added to my fundraising total! Thanks to Jane Freer for her charity swap it night and Linda and the boys for baking (and eating) lots of cakes.
13th April 2011 - Back in the saddle!
After 4 weeks of illness I'm back in the saddle. Loads happening with the fundraising, thanks for all your donations so far. Final day for sausage competition tomorrow - read all about it in the Sandbach Chronicle!
9th May 2011 - 6 month countdown begins!
Holidays have got in the way of my training recently, that's unless you count drinking cocktails as training! Cocktail Night raised over a £1000 - thanks to all involved. Don't forget to buy your Chitty Chitty Bang Bangers, the winning sausage, from Phil Davies Butchers. Thanks Phil for donating £1 for 1 lb on sales! Will be doing the 27 mile Manchester to Liverpool Cycle on 29th May.
29th May 2011 - Manchester to Liverpool........and back!
Drove to Manchester today then jumped on the bike to Liverpool for 34 miles, thought I'd then cycle back to the car so covered 72 miles!
10th August 2011

I'm on target to raise my £3,500 for David Lewis, but I'm not stopping there, the more I raise for David Lewis the closer they get to completing there lastest project, visit www.davidlewisfundraising.org.uk to see how all your donations will help. You can now also sponsor me by texting APDE54 £10 (or other amount from £1-£10) to 70070. It's free to donate and David Lewis will recieve every penny! I really do appreciate every donation you guys make, thank you!
5 weeks to go!
I only have 5 weeks now until I go to Vietnam for my cycle challenge. Last week I cycled from Holmes Chapel to Trafford Park to buy a lock for the gate, that was a 70 mile trip! I also cycled from Chelford to Wythenshaw and back a couple of times in the dark, winter is on it's way and I can look forward to frozen feet again! Thank you to Active Fitness for the money raising at their open day, to Lisa for doing the Zumba class and to whoever made the text donation and didn't leave their name. (let me know if it was you)
THE CHALLENGE!
Day 1
Trial by ordeal 55K all up hill 10% gradient for 10K going up 600m. Then slept in a communal dormitory on stilts, 4 to a mosquito net. Weather atrocious cold, windy and raining. I am told the scenery was idyllic but due to mist, rain, wind and breathlessness did not see anything in the 10m visability.
Day 2
Today we cycled up more mountains for 70k , in the rain and wind again . Only 3 crashes none of which has been moi. At about 3 o'clock we saw the sun it was big and yellow and warm . On the way down hill I reached 75k/h which felt quick. The Viêtnamese are very smiley happy people who all shout hello as we ride past. Tomorrow 140k mainly flat going from Môc Cháu to Son La. Will up date as soon as have Internet or wifi which is not very often in the jungle. Thank you for your support.
Day 3
Only 3 hours sleep last night, woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Flat 130k today from Moc Chau to Son La in 90 degrees, first day without rain. Sad day for one of the team who took a fall and broke her wrist. Very early night for me.
Day 4
