Rigby Group IGO Challenge · 25 April 2019 to 27 April 2019 ·

Place2Be is a children's mental health charity that works to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. We help them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Story

I will be participating in the Rigby Group challenge on 25th - 27th April.

The aim of the challenge is take the senior management of all of the Rigby Group businesses out of their comfort zones for 2 days, completing a 36km mountain bike ride and then a 30km hike in the Lake District.

As well as getting to know better colleagues from across the business, and getting some fresh air and exercise, the event is also an important opportunity to raise some money for Place2Be, a charity that is supported by the Rigby Foundation, the group's charitable trust that currently has over £1.5m invested in causes relating to life-long learning, health and education.

Place2Be provides vital emotional support services to 294 primary and secondary schools across the whole of the UK, touching a school population of over 140,000 pupils, helping them cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

We are all hoping that by taking part in this event we will be able to play a small part in helping support this charity.
