FUNDRAISING UPDATE!

For such a good cause and for Mike showing his commitment by chewing a super-hot chilli for 30seconds, Robert Wiseman Dairies were happy to donate £200 to each of the 5 trekkers - Good Luck!

Thanks to Granny & Grandpa Brookfield for their £50 offline donation!

=========================================================================

For those that know me well, you’ll appreciate that I would struggle to run a bath never mind a 5K race, and previously climbing Primrose Hill would have appeared a daunting task requiring at least two Marlborough Lights for the journey and a beer on reaching the top… So it is with great trepidation, excitement and a feeling fool hardiness that I announce I have chosen to climb Kilimanjaro.

As the largest free standing mountain in the world, a rather scary 15,092 ft high, I have until the 7 August to get into some sort of shape, buy some walking boots and take all the necessary injections… Starting in the rainforests of Lemosho Glades I will head upwards towards Shira Plateau. From here I will catch a glimpse of my goal - Kibo, Kilimanjaro’s main ice-capped peak. I will continue via the beautiful Southern Flank, Barranco Wall and – whilst all the time trying to forget that this is a dormant volcano that could potentially smother me in lava at any moment.

The challenge I face however, is nothing compared to the families whose children suffer from cancer. The “KidsCan” Children’s Cancer Research Centre is working hard to promote and support research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of cancers in children. No other charity researches into specifically children’s cancers which makes their work both unique and vital. With your help it can make the future brighter for children with cancer.

I would be very grateful if you could find it in your heart to sponsor me and as such support the fantastic work ‘KidsCan’ continue to do.

If you've never heard of KidsCan, please watch this short film

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: KidsCan gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me today!
