I am running the London Marathon this year to help raise funds for the Cancer Research Fund on behalf of the University of Bristol.  I studied for my first degree and doctorate at Bristol.  I chose the Cancer Research Fund because they directly contribute to cancer research by providing grants for purchasing equipment actually used for research into cancer treatments. Like many families, we have lost loved ones to cancer and so I am keen to support progress in the rapidily advancing field of cancer research.  

Aside from these aspirations, My Auntie Val recently passed away and my Uncle Peter is very sick. This run is also for them.
