Pathfinder March · 25 June 2011

The Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs and Northants works to make our three counties wilder. We manage over 100 nature reserves, monitor habitats and species, work with others to help them manage their land for wildlife, and encourage and inspire people to love and take action for nature close to home.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm a volunteer for The Great Fen, which is working to create one of the largest wetland nature reserves in the UK (check it out at www.greatfen.org.uk) and am pleased to say that on the 25th June 2011, I took part in and completed the 46-mile Pathfinder March in order to raise money for the project. The course goes round the 4 airbases of the WWII Pathfinder force in Cambridgeshire and must be completed in 20 hours. I completed it in 14 hours and 50 minutes. All monies raised will go to the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire & Peterborough (registered charity no. 1000412) and then onto the The Great Fen. You can still donate money to my cause if you wish even though I have already completed the task.

The Great Fen will provide varied landscapes and habitats, increasing biodiversity and providing a haven for wildlife. It will also create a massive green space for people, opening new opportunities for recreation, education and business with access via footpaths, cycle paths and waterways.

So it's good for wildlife, the environment and the local community.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
