Story

Late 2011 John "big ideas" Dickinson told me he and some of the lads were going to do this challenge. Knowing John well I also know that he would easily find reason not to do this, so I offered to join him!

Having already bought a bike I realise that as enjoyable it is to have a quick 25-50 mile ride at the weekend on a nice warm dry day this would be something a lot harder. The training really kicked up a gear during the winter of 2011/12 and in minus conditions with snow and ice on the road I was out there several times a week after work. It all seems worth it now as 50+ mile rides in endless rain and wind are possibly more fun than when you can't feel you hands and feet. John and I have also been down to Pen Y Fan in Wales, it was in fact a total white out when you made it to Fan Y Big so we came down and walked a further 6 hours in the area.

As mentioned I have chosen the Royal British Legion as I would never risk my own life to join the Army but I feel strongly for those who are injured (and their families) fighting battles dictated by the suits in Government. British soldiers rarely receive the support after the Army and this charity raises money to give that support.

Please give something, I have never asked before and its not likely I will again!
