Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm going to be literally getting on my bike as part of a 50-strong team cycling to raise money for St John’s Church, the village parish church in Hartley Wintney, which is organising a charity cycle ride over the August Bank Holiday 2013. We will start from the town of Malle, north east of Antwerp, Belgium and cycle the 300 miles back home.
80% of the funds raised will go towards the new St John’s Church Centre building. However, from the total amount, 20% will be donated to two very special local charities, namely St Michael’s Hospice, Basingstoke, which cares for terminally ill patients across North Hampshire, and The Matthew Elvidge Trust, committed to raising awareness of depression in young adults, working with charities and universities across UK.
I am meeting the cost to enter the event myself, so your entire sponsorship money will go directly to the charities. (I am also part of a team of volunteers helping to organise this event, ensuring that everyone else participating can raise money for the charities, rather than paying extra hundreds of pounds towards an external events management team.)
For further information about the event, please visit the website here: http://www.hwbikeride.org.uk/
Thank you so much for your interest and your support. There's a party at the new church centre building when we get back, on 26th August, so I hope to see you there!
