I am aiming to raise £2012 for the British Parlaympic Association in the 500 days from March to the Games opening ceremony in July next year. Why?...
Anyone who knows me well also knows that I do no regular exercise at all. I play golf occasionally (only 13 rounds at my club in the last year, rather making a mockery of my annual membership fee!). So it's about time I did some keep fit.
You probably also know that I am doing a lot of work for Lloyds TSB on their London 2012 activation. This has brought me into contact with some amazing people.
Combining these two things has created the '2012 Choice Challenge'. Because I'm able bodied, I can choose what to participate in. Paralympians and potential Paralympians don't have that choice but the charity does give some amazing people the chance to do amazing things for their country (see: www.paralympics.org.uk).
I have set a personal target of 2,012 kilometres of walking or pedalling in 500 days. For you fitness fanatics, that's a piece of p$$$, but for me it's a serious challenge (as anyone who saw me after a 4km ride today will attest!).
I would like 99 people (plus me) to sponsor me to reach this target for only £16.40 each plus Gift Aid = £20.12pp = £2,012 in total.
Thank you for being one of those 99 people.
p.s. I won't be declining any additional people's generosity!
