I have returned from Mehico refreshed, revitalised and ready to throw myself (literally) into my next challenge!
As some of you may know I am officially the newest member of the Motherwell and Wishaw Rotary Club, and as such, thought it only fair that I, with sound heart and slightly unhinged mind accepted the following challenge, by way of initiation/rite of passage. A decision, as the time approaches, I may live to regret....
On Sunday August 1st (that's a Sunday. Light a candle, say a prayer) I will be wheeching myself from the Forth Rail Bridge in aid of the Queensferry Churches Care in the Community (snappily abbreviated to QCCC) and the Childrens' Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
In order for me to experience this 'rush' in all it's glory, I need to raise a minimum of £120. Obviously, this being me, and me loving a challenge, I would like to aim for a bit more. A bit more to the tune of one meeelion dollars.
No, but seriously, I would like to aim for more than the bare minimum. You know from my hairdo and collection of VW Camper memorabilia that I am NOT a minimal kinda guy.
This is where you lucky, lucky people come in (!!). If you would like to donate to my death jump/abseil (they assure me it's perfectly safe, but talk of a 'freefall' abseil does not fill me with much confidence), then follow the instructions and dig deep!
Lets face it, who doesn't want to see me dangling off a bridge, over a river full of sharks.
Ok, ok, so I made the shark bit up, they're safe in Deep Sea World. But still, who doesn't? So come on down and drop your pennies off people!
Muchas Gracias!
Andrew
