<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">During 2011 Andrew & Moira will be participating in three <strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">challenging </span></em></strong>events to raise money for a local charity</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">Event 1</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">April 2011<strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: 26pt; color: red;"> </span></span></em></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Kinross Sportive</span></em></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">A day in the saddle cycling the Black route which is 87 miles long and has a total ascent of 5577 feet! <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">(Well that's one down, two still to go! We got very cold and extremely wet but we both finished it in one piece!)</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">Event 2</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">June 2011</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Coast to Coast </span></em></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><span> </span>More days in the saddle this time! Mountain biking around 270 miles from Isle of Skye to Montrose. Just to make it harder around 75% of the route is off road!! <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">(Despite fighting against the rain gods every day we battled through and completed the Coast to Coast - this is undoubtedly the hardest challenge we have set ourselves - so far!)</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">Event 2a</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">August 2011</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><em>Highland Perthshire Challenge</em></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">Due to some niggling injuries that could jepordise our participation in the half marathon we have set ourselves an additional/replacement challenge. This time it's Highland Perthshire 100 - a challenging 100 mile cylce route in one day, taking in the historic Scottish towns of Blairgowrie, Dunkeld, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy passing notable landmarks such as the Meikleour Beech Hedgeand the Birk's of Aberfeldy.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">(Seems the injury gods were out in force to make things as difficult as possible for us, couple of days before this event Moira sprained her ankle which prevented her from taking part on the day. Andrew completed the 100 miles on the day in a cycling time of 6 hours 13mins. </span><span style="color: #ff0000;">Couple of weeks later and once Moira's ankle had improved, we both cycled the 100 mile distance and this rounded off the cycling challenges we had set ourselves)</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">Event 3</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"> October 2011 <span> </span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Aviemore Half Marathon</span></em></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">(Sadly due to injuries we have had to withdraw from this event, however our places have been held and we hope to complete the event in 2012.) </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><br></span></em></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">Probably won’t want to see another bike so opted to use our legs this time and run 13.1 miles!!!</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">As cycling is one of our favourite past times, we plan to raise money for a local charity called <strong>Talking Tandems</strong>. Almost all of us will at some time in our lives have ridden a bike and no doubt taken it for granted, but for blind or partially sighted – riding a bike and experiencing all that goes with it would simply be impossible!</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><span> </span>Talking Tandems is a local tandem cycling organisation which promotes the integration of individuals who are blind, partially sighted or have a dual sensory loss with sighted people and local community groups by enabling them to enjoy all aspects of cycling, thus building confidence to change lives in varied and positive ways.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><span> </span>Any funds that we are able to raise will go to providing equipment that will help more people, who once thought riding a bike impossible, do just that!</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;">We would be delighted if you would show your support </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Well</span></strong>, <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">that's it all done and as you will see a total of £814 raised. Many thanks to all who supported us!!!</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; border: medium none; padding: 0cm;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Thanks</span></strong></p>
