Story

'Fibro and my Anglias', setting off on the 5th April!

I present to you the Fibromyalgia Border to Border Challenge!

A friend of mine, Rebecca Wass, has suffered with Fibromyalgia for over 16 years. She has organised some folk from Norwich, East Anglia, to form the team 'Fibro and my Anglias'. (Good eh?) The challenge is to walk nearly 100 miles covering beach, cliff, marsh and whatever other hellish terrain there will be along the way, from one side of Norfolk to the other, on the coastal path........ in but 5 days. Gasp. This is a challenge for any able and healthy person, (what with the pirates, dive bombing birdlife, killer seals, and ferocious fen people), but it is one that Rebecca will find especially difficullt.......However, she knows her Anglian Friends will help her cross the finishing line, although I am hoping we don't have to carry her.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue, it seems to have no cure or specific medication.

Rebecca and her team want to raise the awareness of this illness whilst also giving hope to sufferers around the UK that even with the shity luck of having this you can improve your health with managed diet, exercise and positive thinking.

I'm doing this walk with Rebecca to raise money for and awareness of Fibromyalgia, lots of people are affected by it to varying degrees, I have seen the impact this illness has on her daily life although she won't complain and puts on a brave face. I know that more research would give her and others who suffer hope for a cure in the furture.

Fibromyalgia Association UK gives information and support to thousands of sufferers around the country and more importantly they will advise of support groups which are a lifeline to many.

I know I haven't asked you to sponser me before, which is not me saying you should feel compelled to, although that's some pretty compelling prose you've been treated to, no, do as you want but don't bring shame upon your family.........not more.

Oh, and thanks if you do sponser me, very kind.
