Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since leaving the Army and spending 11 rewarding years with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, I have worked for the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Family Association Forces Help (SSAFA FH) (What a mouthful!) for the past 10 years as a volunteer.

During that, often humbling period, I have seen what a wonderful job they do for serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces and their families. It is true to say that without the work of SSAFA FH's volunteers, the Royal Naval, Army and Royal Air Force's Benevolent Funds could not fully do their job. SSAFA FH provides the "foot soldiers on the front line meeting and helping needy clients", then reporting back to the funds with recommendations as to assistance. They also raise funds from civil charities on behalf of their clients.

SSAFA FH is something of a forgotten Service Charity. We look after the forgotten heroes of WW2, Korea, Malaya, Aden, Cyprus, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Bosnia and, now, Iraq and Afganistan. We have been and, hopefully, will always be there!

Now to celebrate my forthcoming 77th Birthday in May, I want to give something back. So please dig deep and donate now.
