Story
Hi folks,
Instead of the annual telent Chorley Big Bike Ride, this year telent has organised a week-long national event to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary. This involves Northern and Southern routes passing through as many telent sites and outposts as possible before converging on the headquarters in Warwick. Because of the distances involved and the timescale, the routes are split into shorter legs and run as relays between small groups of runners, riders, walkers (and even kayakers).
I will be taking part in the Northern route, which on Day 1 will cover Carlisle to Castleford. I will be kicking off proceedings at 7am on the first leg of this day, with a 30 mile ride from Carlisle to Cliburn (between Penrith and Appleby), which involves 1100 feet of climbing.
I am organising the route for Day 2 (Castleford to Chorley, mostly along the Calder Navigation and Leeds-Liverpool Canal)) and will be taking part in at least 2 of the legs (Bingley to Colne and Colne to Altham, which is another 30 miles.
If my legs can stand it I may also be taking part in the whole of the route for Day 3, which runs from Chorley to Liverpool (44 miles), again along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.
Any donations you can give will be graciously received on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.
