Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 17th of April this year I am running the Virgin London Marathon aiming to raise a minimum of £1600 in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.  As I am sure you may be aware, The Soldiers’ Charity gives lifetime support to both serving and retired men, women and their families. In 2010 they made 4000 grants to individuals and other Military Charities and they need to raise £14 million a year by 2015 to help support those with horrific injuries sustained in the current conflicts.

Four generations of my family since 1915 have served in the armed forces. The most recent being my father, Lt Col. Roddy Riddell who was in the Black Watch for over 30 years and now my brother-in-law is currently serving in the Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland.  I therefore feel a strong connection to the Army and helping those that have done so much for us.

I would be enormously grateful for any form of donation that you decide to give.
