Story
<p><span style="color: #808000;">Hello there, yes I can't believe it either, the 15th anniversary of my liver transplant is fast approaching! <span style="color: #008080;">Where did that decade and a half go? Time to celebrate with a ceilidh, food and good wine.</span></span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #000080;">I have been asked by generous friends if I would like a present, and whilst I do value my rebirth-day, the best gift you could give me is seriously considering signing up for the organ donors register (www.organdonation.nhs.uk).</span> <span style="color: #008000;">Now I know that is a challenge too far to some of you, in which case I suggest you think about donating some money to the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">British Liver Trust</span>. </span><span style="color: #0000ff;">Not only do they support people waiting for transplants, they provide valuable information, and carry out research into liver disease.</span> <span style="color: #008000;">I certainly appreciated the information I received from them.</span> <span style="color: #808000;">So why don't you, help me, to help them, to help others.</span> <span style="color: #ff9900;">Of course, I'm not going to complain if you </span><span style="color: #ff9900;">give some money</span><span style="color: #ff9900;">, <strong>and</strong> </span><span style="color: #ff9900;"> </span><span style="color: #ff9900;">sign up</span><span style="color: #ff9900;">.</span></p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #993300;">In return, have a look at the photos over on the left there.</span> <span style="color: #008000;">I thought I would show you some of the events some the passed 15 years that I would never have taken part in without that generous decision my donor's next of kin took.</span> <span style="color: #008080;">Thank you to them, to the researchers that continue to push the boundaries of medical knowledge, to the people that fund the research, and to the teams that carry out the practical procedures that result in life giving transplants.</span> <span style="color: #ff6600;">But most of all, thank you for your continuing support.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><span style="color: #008080;">Sounds like I've won an Oscar!</span> <span style="color: #808000;">But you know that really pales into insignificance next to a transplant.</span><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #008080;"> </span><span style="color: #993300;">Here's to the next anniversary, cheers!</span> <span style="color: #339966;">Love Andy.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: #999999;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
