Story

Hello

You may remember I ran the Flora London Marathon last year for Mencap and raised over  £ 3,700.00 for a very worthy cause.

However, this year, on Sunday 1st November I'm taking part in the ING New York City Marathon 2009 to raise money for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and I'd really appreciate your support.

Sir Bobby Robson fought cancer an incredible five times. Sadly, 17 years after his first diagnosis, he lost that long and courageous battle on 31 July 2009. He died very peacefully at his County Durham home with his wife and family beside him.

During the last 18 months of his life, and after retiring from football management, Sir Bobby worked hard towards a new goal - fighting cancer through his charity.

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation focuses on the early detection and treatment of cancer and the clinical trials of new drugs that will eventually beat it. Please do what you can to support the ongoing work of the Foundation by making a donation.

I realise I'm a little late in getting this fund raising project off the ground and its a bit short notice, but any donation large or small, will be very much appreciated.

If you dont want to donate on line, you can send a cheque to me made payable to the 'Sir Bobby Robson Foundation' and I will pass them on.

Thank you most sincerely.

Andrew
