Sheffield Half Marathon 2012 · 27 May 2012 ·

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

On 27th May I ran in this year’s Sheffield half marathon to raise money for St Lukes' for their ward rebuilding appeal. As a new Patron, St Luke’s Hospice is my chosen charity. I've just reached 65, so it has presented a real challenge, especially as it was such a hot day. I'd stuck to a training regime over the previous 3 months and it paid off with a sub-2 hour finish and 8th in the age category. I'm very grateful to all who have already made donations and raising such a fantastic amount
It's still not too late to make a donation after the event, so thank you for your support.
