We support autistic people to live enriched lives

Story

Autism.West Midlands is a charity that aims to improve the quality of life for people with autistic spectrum disorders and their families.

My brother, John, has an autistic spectrum disorder. Autism.West Midlands have helped John and my family learn to cope with this condition through difficult times. I am proud to say that with their help he is now (to an extent) able to understand and live with this condition, and he now works as a carer, looking after people with severe learning disabilities at Gorse Farm.

However, funds have recently been severely cut to these residential homes, which has affected the level of support that the dedicated team of carers would love to provide.

I am running the Derby 10k in the hope that I can help raise funds to support Autism.West Midlands, so that they can continue to offer the much needed support they provided to my family.

About the charity

We are the leading charity in the West Midlands for people on the autism spectrum. We use our expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and those who love and care for them. Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities, providing direct support.
