Mongol Rally 2010 · 24 July 2010

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Mike Shreeve and Andrew Thompson are joining the Mongol Rally 2010. The basic idea is to drive from Brighton in the UK to Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia (it is around 10,000 miles and will take 4-6 weeks). Our target is first, to raise £1,000 for a group of charities. Among them a very important cause is Alzheimer's. which I'd like to contribute to in memory of Susana, a very special and lovely lady with a wicked sense of humour (who also happened to be my mother in law).

We're doing a blog thing so you can keep track of what we're up to, and the, er, epic journey, here: Mike & Andrew's 2010 rally story...... You might also like to read about the slightly demented (in a good sort of way) Mongol Rally, which says it is 'fighting to make the world less boring'. Susana would have liked that.
