My father passed away in 2002 from bowel cancer and it had always been my intention to raise some money for the cause. As with many things other commitments held things up, but then it was brought back to me when a dear friend from my school days was diagnosed with the illness last summer. I have long been a keen cyclist and had wished to undertake the ultimate challenge in the UK, Land’s End to John O’Groats.  I therefore decided that along with my good friend Dave we would undertake the challenge this September. We start the ride on Sunday 13th September and will complete on Tuesday 29th September, approx 1000miles later following scenic routes throughout the UK.

I have chosen to support this charity in particular as it is focused on this specific cancer which has touched both ours, and many other families, so deeply.
