An ageing society is a social issue with loneliness and isolation in particular being a major issue for older people - 1 Million older people go a month or longer without speaking to anyone they know.  

At work, my team and I are responsible for managing suppliers who visit people in their homes on a daily basis and therefore see this issue first hand.  

We've decided to do something tangible to help and have launched a  '£100k for Age UK' social purpose . We have partnered with Age UK to raise funds and provide practical support with the ambition of raising £100k by the end of 2016.

The start of this will be the 10k run in March, which members of my team, some of our supplier partners and I will be taking place in.
