WheelPower provides and promotes opportunities for thousands of children and young adults with disabilities to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sport and improve their quality of life.

My story

Hi all,

I became ill last year after going out running, my eye drooped and funny things went on inside my head. I have not been able to work for nearly a year.

Now I find I have lost my medical and can no longer be a pilot.

I have recovered and want to run first a Marathon yes a full one I have never done one before (but part of the training for it is " The Great North Run") a half marathon.

I thought I was lucky to be able to do this and the sore and aching limbs are nothing compared to not having all of them.

I train hard... sometimes it is grueling ,but being ill is so depressing and not nice. I know what I would choose. I had a chance to recover and do this. I want to help the spirit and mind of the many people who can be lifted to a better place through sport.
