It might sound strange, but Football Changes Lives (for the better)....
In the last 5 years Hub Athletic has worked with over 100 young people in Waterloo, using football as a means to engage, mentor and develop our players into future leaders, workers, coaches and parents.
In 2008 and 2009 we took young people to work in some of the poorest and most deprived communities - in India and South Africa. They were there to coach football for children who literally had nothing, and along the way we changed a few lives - included theirs. Check out the films we made of our work;

This year we plan to return to South Africa with another group of young people. We hope to support the work of Oasis and local project youth football project 'Ikage' (meaning Build Yourself), based in Cosmo City, Johannesburg. We'll be giving our time, money and coaching skills for two weeks in September 2011.
So....to raise money for the project, I will be cycling from Lands End to John O Groats. In ten days.
1000 MILES IN TEN DAYS.
The training is killing me, but I hope to raise enough money to take a huge step towards developing young people - here and in South Africa.
So take pity on my legs and please support Hub Athletic. All of your money will go directly to the project and not towards any of my trip costs.
