My story

Well its all over, an amazing and successful few days and probably the most challenging physical experience of my life! An exciting, exhilarating and epic journey with a fantastic team of 14 cyclists and Rod our support van driver.
300 miles cycled over 3 1/2 days, wind, several bouts of torrential rain, some welcome sunshine, no significant accidents or injuries, plenty of punctures and many adventures. Our only regret is that we were unable to make it to our last country, Luxembourg through a combination of underestimating the distance, part of the return train line being shut with a risky bus replacement service and simply lack of time to get to our return Eurostar journey - but we did all the miles promised!

Last year I cycled 200 miles from London to Brussels to raise money for Street Action's partner New Generation in Burundi. This year I am getting back on my bike with a bigger challenge. In September I shall be cycling with up to 15 other friends and supporters of Street Action 300 miles, in four days across six nations (England, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg and Germany). I hope to raise £2000 for Street Action's parters in Burundi, Kenya and South Africa.

So, why am I doing this again?  The challenge of long distance cycling, my commitment to the work of Street Action (www.streetaction.org) and my passion to support people and organisations who are really making a difference to the lives of street children in Africa. Last year we raised enough money to build the first house for the New generation village in Burundi!

What is Street Action? One of the leading street children charities in the UK supporting local partners working with street children in Burundi, Kenya and South Africa providing sustainble financial support and promoting the work they do through research and advocacy.

So what can you do?  Please, if you can, sponsor me - as little as £10 can really help support the work of Street Action's partners. All the money I raise will go to support street children, I am paying the costs of the cycle ride.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for any support you can give.

So please, if you can, dig deep and donate now.
