We raise money to help Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals provide world-class care to thousands of heart and lung patients each year, and to support the hospitals' pioneering work in heart and lung disease diagnosis, treatment and research.

Story

I am looking to cycle the "Lon Las Cymru" Welsh cycle route which starts on Anglesey and takes me through Snowdon, the Brecon Beacons and into the Valleys before ending in Chepstow.

In preparation I have been cycling most days - although following the Thames to work does not encounter too many hills! However, I have ventured a little further including a trip around the Hampshire coast and the Isle of Wight with my mate Prof Cragg, a return journey to Hayling Island and a dip in the sea, scaled the dizzy heights of Moel Fammau in North Wales and I even dragged poor Sasha on a trip from home into Central London. The Surrey Hills seem to have been a second home of late and I dread to think what a fat old Welshie looks like compared to recent incumbents like Bradley and Cav.

I am now feeling confident that I have put the miles in so please dig deep and donate as I head to Holyhead on the 20th September.

Please read the organiser's team board as to why this charity.
