Andrew's fund-raiser for injured rugby players

Bupa London 10K 2013 · 27 May 2013 ·
I am running the BUPA London 10k road race in May, and decided to donate any funds I could raise to the RFU's Injured Players Foundation, opposite. Why? I have got a lot out of rugby as a player, parent and now as a referee; and those - thankfully few - who are seriously injured need support.
I am far too junior an RFU referee to be paid, but we are entitled to expenses. Sometimes, clubs even pay the expenses (!) and although the amount is quite variable, it's generally between £10 and £20 a game. I decided to donate the expenses I earn from this season's games to the run - and you can see how I am getting on below.
As for the 27th of May. I used a long time ago to run a mean 35 minute 10k; nowadays if I am under 50 mins I am pleasantly surprised. I am targeting 45, and will hope for a fair following wind :)
Thank you for making a donation, and thus making the run more meaningful. All the best, Andrew
As you may know, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they send your money directly to the Injured Players Foundation and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, and save time and cost for the IPF.
So please be generous and donate now.
