"Life's Opportunities Lie Outside Our Comfort Zones", so... I'm riding 1,000 miles (1,600 km) by bicycle "End to End" from the bottom of the UK to the very top in aid of Cancer Research.
On the 22nd May 2011 I'm setting out in a team of 7 Emerson Process Management employees on a grueling 2 week challenge, to cycle the length of the UK from Lands End to John O'Groats in aid of charity. The team will be averaging 88 miles a day, the longest coming in at only a shade under 100 miles and with much climbing in the saddle whilst in Scotland.
This is our route:

Training has had to be squeezed between international work commitments which has made things fun, for example I rode 60 miles around West Maui in Hawaii at the beginning of April and I've ridden around the Zugersee in Switzerland. But my personal best to date was last Sunday when I put in my first +100 mile / 160 km ride around Cheshire and the Peak District. Doing it day after day for 11 days of back to back cycling is now the challenge but with a cause as important as Cancer Research, I have every incentive to succeed. How many of us or our families haven't been touched by cancer? I'm hoping that through your generous support, I can contribute to this very deserving charitable cause that strives to find cures to the many cancer types suffered by so many.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I appreciate many of you already donate to your own favoured charities and no offence is taken should you not wish to support this event. However, emotional and financial support to help me raise this fundraising target for Cancer Research will really be appreciated, so please dig deep and donate now. Thanks for your support.
